The Fourth District Seniors Resource Center proudly presents its 11th annual Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the George L. Stevens Senior Center, 570 S. 65th Street (off Skyline Drive), San Diego, CA 92114. Donation of $12.00 per person includes a choice of 2 meats with your tasty meal. RSVP is a must!! FDSRC Glide ‘n’ Stride Walkers had an all-day “Spring Eggstravaganza Fundraiser” on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. A donation of $20 included free play with a bonus of $5 more if your birthday is in April. Seating on the bus to Golden Acorn Casino was limited and filled up quickly. Everyone who went had an “Egg-stremely” good time! If you missed it this time, there will be more. Be sure to drop by the Center to pick up fliers about upcoming events. Fourth District Seniors Resource Center (FDSRC), Single Widowed Adult Group (SWAG), and “Jeanette The History Lady” are planning a trip to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC. If you are interested in going on this trip, please come to the next planning meeting at the Center on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 4 pm.
Rosemary Pope, Executive Director of the Fourth District Seniors Resource Center, will be honored as one of twelve of The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of San Diego County’s 2017 Women of Dedication at their “Angels of Dedication” Luncheon on March 23 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. FDSRC’s 3rd Annual Recognition Luncheon Honoring Our Seasoned Community Treasures (90 Years +) was held on September 9, 2016. California Assemblywoman Dr. Shirley Weber was on hand to congratulate the honorees.
