Community Members Participated In Filmed Acting for The Old Globe Theatre’s Henry 6

The Old Globe and the FDSRC presented a once-in-a-generation event in Balboa Park: World Premiere Adaptation of a play by William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Barry Edelstein. Costumes were designed by 2024 Tony Award nominee David Israel Reynoso. In the play, two ruling families of England fight each other in a high-stakes civil war for power. This once-in-a­ generation event featured epic battles, vibrant characters, sweeping crowd scenes, and exquisite costumes.

Juneteenth 2019

Fourth District Seniors Resource Center proudly presented its 13th annual Juneteenth event. On Wednesday, June 19, 2019 over 400 people attended the Resource Fair with information tables, displays and health screenings, and enjoyed a traditional Juneteenth menu with beverage and tasty desserts! We will post some photos soon!

THIS EVENT IS IN THE PAST. MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR NEXT YEAR’S 12th Annual event. The Fourth District Seniors Resource Center proudly presented its 11th annual Juneteenth Celebration and Resource Fair on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the George L. Stevens Senior Center, 570 S. 65th Street (off Skyline Drive), San Diego, CA 92114. Donation of $12.00 per person included a choice of 2 meats with a tasty meal. RSVP was a must via phone (619) 266-2066 by Monday, June 12 to reserve a spot. There were health screenings, information and resource table displays, and a raffle. All net proceeds benefit the Fourth District Seniors Resource Center. Golden Acorn Casino Spring Eggstravaganza on April 12, 2017

THIS EVENT IS IN THE PAST. FDSRC Glide ‘n’ Stride Walkers had an all-day “Spring Eggstravaganza Fundraiser” on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. A donation of $20 included free play with a bonus of $5 more if your birthday is in April. Seating on the bus to Golden Acorn Casino was limited and filled up quickly. Everyone who went had an “Egg-stremely” good time! If you missed it this time, there will be more. Be sure to drop by the Center to pick up fliers about upcoming events.
